Over 50% of dog training is about teaching the human how to be the trainer, teacher or leader for their dog once any trainer leaves. Learning new things is like building new muscles in the mind, for both human and dog. Training is also a great way to build and strengthen the bond between human and canine. We learn to understand each other better and create safety, healthy routines, predictability and trust.
It has been scientifically proven that positive reinforcement training with people and with animals is more effective and humane than old-school traditional harsh, dominant or punishment based training. Dogs are 100% dependent on their humans for pretty much everything including physical exercise and mental stimulation otherwise a dogs life can be very mundane and boring. Positive Reinforcement Training is choice based training. We teach your dog to think and make choices which helps to build their confidence and a feeling of autonomy. When a dog has the freedom to learn and be a good thinker, just like with us, it increases the quality of their life since everything else can be very controlled like when they eat, what they eat, what they get and when. Everyone, including a dog feels more confident and connected to their teacher, parent or caregiver when they are allowed to think and make choices versus feeling verbally or physically forced to submit or do something.
The best part about positive reinforcement training is that it's a win-win for both parties! When a human teaches their dog to do a certain behavior, the human wins, plus the dog wins because they get praised "yes, good, great" (marking the behavior) + rewarded (reinforced), and maybe a great pet or massage for doing that certain behavior. Positive training leads to humans and dogs being on the same team winning the game of life together.
Training when it feels good can be the best part of any dogs day because they get their persons full attention, praise, treats, pets and/or good times for learning to communicate and engage with you. Whenever people get upset or angry at a dog, they make themself upset too. It can create opposing sides and finger pointing instead of having a loving connection together. In reality, the puppy or dog may simply need more guidance, practice, patience and support instead of fear or aggression from an upset human.
The focus in Holly's work is to make training a dog as easy and as clear as possible since both parties are learning. The more we can teach our dog to use their mind, the more we are creating infinite possibilities to improve their quality of life and waking up their potential. There is a bright and beautiful star ready to shine in each and every puppy or dog!
Dogs give us unconditional love and many other gifts. One of the greatest gifts we can give to our puppies or dogs is to teach them to think and use the muscle of their mind in a way they cannot teach themself or each other. It’s important to be compassionate, patient and come from a place of love and support so our dogs mind stays open, curious and motivated to learn and grow with us.
Each puppy or dog is unique, so there is no one size fits all. Holly focuses on getting to know the dog she is working with and dives deep into each of her clients concerns and goals so she can deliver the best results possible in the least amount of time.
Einstein proved that everything is energy. So, people get to learn a lot about their own energy and how it affects their puppy or dog as well. Holly gives people tools along with homework or action steps so they can take what they learned from their trainings into their daily life and use it with great success.
Holly’s mission is to do her part in raising the vibration on the planet so we as people have more awareness, compassion and understanding for other species beginning with our dogs. It is important to start with respect in order to build trust and a bond, if we want to have loving relationships.
Behind the veil of consciousness.....We Are One 💕
